What is the Solutionist Program?

A year-long opportunity for individuals with bold ideas to address challenges in their communities—especially those who have challenges accessing traditional leadership programs, funding, or networks. We support you in developing your solution, your skills, and your path to impact.

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must be 18+ and their solution must serve one of WV’s southern 21 counties. This may include Coalfield program graduates, AmeriCorps members, entrepreneurs, or anyone with a vision to create change in their community—whether you’re just getting started or already taking action.

WV Capitol visit & meeting local legislators

Presenting your solution to those who can help it grow

Application & Process

Applications open annually at coalfield-development.org and follow with an interview.
