“It’s time to create opportunities for those who feel lost to find their way, for those who feel invisible to see that they are valued, and for those who feel hopeless to know that change is possible.”

Kendra Ellison, a Wyoming County native and volunteer at One Cup in Oceana, is creating a safe, welcoming space for individuals in her community who are struggling with mental health challenges. Her vision is to offer a supportive, non-judgmental environment where people can explore healing through creative expression, group conversations, and connection with others who understand their experiences. For Kendra, this space is not meant to replace therapy, but to provide an accessible alternative for those who feel isolated, unheard, or unsure of where to turn.

Kendra’s passion is deeply personal. Having once felt like she didn’t belong, she is determined to be the person she once needed – someone who listens, cares, and reminds others they are not alone. She believes mental health struggles are too often overlooked in our region, leaving people to suffer in silence. Through empathy, creativity, and community partnership, Kendra is working to build a place where individuals feel seen, valued, and empowered to take steps toward healing. Her goal is simple but powerful: to help those who feel lost find belonging, hope, and a path forward.
