POSITION SUMMARY AND OBJECTIVE

Coalfield Development seeks a Renewable Energy Training Coordinator who:

  1. Has the knowledge and experience to lead innovative solar trainings across several job sites in the southern coalfields of West Virginia.
  2. Collaborates with the RePower Appalachia Director to develop and implement solar trainings that leverage resources and funding opportunities to support the growing renewable energy sector and the workforce development needs it requires.
  3. Trainings and outcomes align with mission of the organization to address employment barriers for underserved communities.

Essential Functions

  • Regular attendance is an essential function for all employees. We depend on our employees to show up, begin work and end work at the time their schedule indicates and whenever scheduled to work, aside from extenuating circumstances.
  • Lead design and implementation of renewable energy-based training programs.
  • Collaborate with Director of Renewable Energy on training programs and initiatives.
  • Coordinate with existing renewable energy companies on workforce development and training programs.
  • Research industry standards and best practices regarding renewable energy and trainings.
  • Legally and safely able to drive a vehicle to various sites and training locations.

Work Location and Hours of Work

  • Office in 4334 Piedmont Road, Huntington, WV 25704
  • Coalfield Development operates on a Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM schedule.
  • Given the nature of this role – attendance at events may require work after normal hours.
  • Coalfield allows exempt employees to request & use flextime.

TRAVEL AND TRANSPORTATION REQUIREMENTS

Candidates must provide reliable transportation to their primary work location and other locations as required. Travel expenses (excluding commutes) may be reimbursed per Coalfield’s policies and procedures. Coalfield has a limited fleet of vehicles and frequently carpools to minimize travel burdens on employees. A valid driver’s license and annual completion of our drivers safety course is required in order to drive a Coalfield vehicle.
