Last week, I was joined by Generation West Virginia Director, Alex Weld, and Sustainable Strategies CEO, Matt Ward, at the Build Back Better Regional Challenge (BBBRC) Summit in Washington D.C.
Over the past two years both of us made the decision to organize our teams with local trades unions. We did this because we do not view unions as a problem to be managed but rather as an opportunity to be leveraged.
For April’s Council Day, we traveled to Mingo County to Coalfield Development’s Highwall location to tour and celebrate progress occurring in the coalfields we work to promote.
March has been a whirlwind for our team here at Coalfield Development. At this month’s Council Day event, we kicked off by celebrating our most significant accomplishment: the much-anticipated submission of our Build Back Better grant earlier this month.
On Friday, United States Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm toured the West Edge facility and met with representatives from Solar Holler and Mountain Mindful before taking part in a roundtable discussion concerning West Virginia’s energy transition.
