The Workforce Training Coordinator reports directly to the Workforce Training Manager and will work together to advance the training goals and initiatives for the team and the organization. The Workforce Training Coordinator will assist in planning, coordinating, and implementing Professional Accelerated Training & Hiring (PATH) trainings in Coalfield’s direct service area. The Workforce Training Coordinator will balance strong administrative and record-keeping skills needed for grant reporting. Coordinating with multiple partners, employers, and community stakeholders to achieve effective outcomes for each PATH training will be essential for this position. The Workforce Training Coordinator will also be responsible for ensuring that community training commitments across the organization’s teams meet the standards and data collection needs of the organization and are quality and transformative experiences for participants. This position will seamlessly braid with all of Coalfield’s teams to ensure that PATH and community training outcomes are captured and tracked in Coalfield’s data management system.

The Coordinator shall energetically engage the following tasks including, but not limited to:
● Harmonize PATH and community training commitments with the rest of the Workforce Team’s goals
● Coordinate with internal teams at Coalfield to support their PATH and community training needs
● Work with the Workforce Training Manager to plan and implement PATH trainings in southern West Virginia and surrounding states
○ This includes being physically present to support and/or lead trainings
● Attend meetings with a variety of stakeholders pertaining to training needs
● Coordinate the scheduling of meetings and manage timely email responses to partners
● Attend external community organizations or publicly organized meetings as needed
● Engage with members of Coalfield’s Employer Network to support their training needs, as well as connect with program graduates to support job placement and achieve grant outcomes
● Support the development, coordination, and implementation of community-based professional training programs to benefit both employers and their employees
● Collect data from participants in PATH and community training programs to be stored in Coalfield’s data management system
● Conduct follow-up calls with program participants as needed for data collection
● Balance administrative responsibilities with in-person training activities

● Proficient with computers, email, Microsoft Office, Google applications and standard office equipment (phone, copier/printer, scanners, etc.)

Work Location and Hours of Work
Coalfield offices are currently located in Huntington and Charleston, WV. The chosen candidate must have reliable transportation to regularly attend work at the office and other locations, as required.
● Office location will be in Huntington, WV
● Primarily in the office or onsite at one of the project sites.
● Frequent travel will be required to training site locations. Coalfield has fleet vehicles that may be used for this purpose
● The normal work week is Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. However, given the nature of this role – attendance at trainings may require the Coordinator to work before/after normal hours Monday through Friday. In light of this, Coalfield allows employees to use flex time.

● Must be able to drive and work seated or standing at a desk and/or computer
● Physical work with training participants on community projects (preferred, not required)
Travel and Transportation Requirements
Candidates must provide reliable transportation to their primary work location. Coalfield has a limited fleet of vehicles and frequently carpools to minimize travel burdens on employees. Travel expenses (excluding commutes) may be reimbursed per Coalfield’s policies and procedures.
Required Experience and Education
● Passion for rebuilding the Appalachian economy from the ground up
● Three years of related work experience preferred
● Bachelor’s Degree preferred
