POSITION SUMMARY AND OBJECTIVE

As a lifestyle brand offered by Coalfield Development, Mountain Mindful’s Graphic Designer supports digital design services for a variety of apparel embellishment services. We offer screen-printing, design, and embroidery services for environmentally sustainable apparel items. Our Graphic Designers create custom art and prepare it for each of these processes, using tools like Adobe Creative Suite and Pulse Embroidery software. Our Design Team also supports the design and development of new products to include in each of our product lines: Home Office Furnishings, Casual Apparel, and Self Care products.

KEY responsibilities

  • This position involves working closely with clients who have diverse design needs and goals. Must be capable of effectively collaborating with clients from various backgrounds and perspectives, displaying openness and professionalism in accommodating different viewpoints.
  • Preparing digital file registrations for embroidery of apparel products and/or working closely with custom embroidery digitizing services to meet design goals in a timely manner.
  • Create engaging and visually appealing designs for print and digital media, including branding, marketing, social media graphics, and website layouts.
  • Present design concepts to clients and incorporate feedback to refine and finalize designs.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality output.
  • Develop creative concepts and design solutions that align with client briefs and objectives, particularly for apparel and online store graphics.
  • Prepare digital file registrations for screenprinting.
  • Digitize artwork for embroidery.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to continuously enhance design skills and knowledge.
  • Must be available to support occasional in-person events outside regular hours.
  • Basic photography, layout, social media design skills, and familiarity with digitizing artwork for embroidery are preferred qualifications, though not required.

  • Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Creative and trend-aware, with the ability to develop compelling, market-relevant designs.
  • Available to support occasional in-person events outside regular hours as a brand representative.
  • Ability to maintain visual consistency across branded materials and manage digital design assets effectively.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or previous experience working as a graphic designer, preferably in a print production environment such as a screenprinting shop or a commercial printing company.
  • 3+ years of experience in the Graphic Design field is required, apparel screen printing experience preferred.
  • Extensive experience working with digital file registrations for various print processes, using Adobe Creative Software Suite.
  • Embroidery software experience is preferred. (Specialized training in embroidery is available to the chosen candidate.)

SUPERVISion

  • The Graphic Designer reports to the Sales and Design Manager.

Work Location and Hours of Work

  • Mountain Mindful Apparel located at 1040 Vernon St.
  • The chosen candidate must have reliable transportation to regularly attend work at the Huntington production location and other locations, as required.
  • Extensive computer operation.
  • Light lifting (up to 25 LBS with or without accommodation).
  • Must be able to drive and work seated or standing at a desk and/or computer.
  • The normal work week is Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • Employees may work in the presence of children under the age of 18 from time to time for special events.

travel and transportation requirements

Candidates must provide reliable transportation to their primary work location. Coalfield has a limited fleet of vehicles and frequently carpools to minimize travel burdens on employees. Travel expenses (excluding commutes) may be reimbursed per Coalfield’s policies and procedures.
