West Virginia’s Local Food & Farms Day is an annual event held at the capitol that encourages interaction and dialogue between farmers/food producers and state representatives. Coalfield Development’s Refresh Appalachia program will be in attendance, alongside other agricultural organizations, stakeholders, and producers, to convey to state representatives the importance of nonprofit work in the local food system, and the importance of local food and farmers to our state’s and region’s economy. Individuals from Refresh Appalachia will be representing at the event, tabling at an informational booth and connecting with legislators. The day’s schedule:
- 8:30-11:00AM Tabling, Food System Demonstration, Scheduled Legislative Meetings
- 11:00 AM Reading of a Resolution During Floor Session and Recognition
