
The West Virginia Grant Resource Centers is a free resource that helps organizations across the state build their grant writing capacity – from finding grant opportunities and building competitive proposals to providing in-depth grant writing training. In this workshop, the WVGRC will guide participants through each critical step of the pre-award process, including:
– Seeking and Finding Grants
– Writing a Strong Grant Proposal
– Building and Maximizing Community Partnerships
– Developing a Budget and Budget Narrative
– Identifying Matching Funds
– Thinking Like a Reviewer
– Getting Grant Ready
Four Learning Outcomes:
- Learn to research and identify suitable grants for agricultural or food businesses.
- Understand the components of a successful grant proposal.
- Develop skills to articulate business/project goals and objectives in grant applications.
- Gain strategies to improve grant application success rates.
The workshop will conclude with an opportunity to meet directly with the grant team to discuss your questions and projects further. This workshop is tailored for farmers, food businesses, and nonprofit organizations.

The $35 registration fee for the WV Small Farms Conference will be applied towards the venue, meals, and/or refreshments provided during the training.
