Marilyn T. McClure-Demers serves as the Office Managing Member for the Columbus, Ohio office, of Steptoe & Johnson PLLC as well as Assistant General Counsel to the firm. Prior to joining Steptoe & Johnson, she served as Vice President, Associate General Counsel at Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company, a Fortune 80 insurance and financial services company headquartered in Columbus, OH. She holds a BA in political science from WVU and is a graduate of the West Virginia College of Law. Marilyn has been recognized for her efforts to promote inclusion and for mentorship and sponsorship in the legal profession, corporate America and in the communities she serves. A servant leader, Marilyn is a member of the Board for the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, which was created by President Kennedy to eliminate Civil Rights violations in the United States and the Tiffany Circle National Council of the American Red cross, among others. A native West Virginian with ties to the Coal industry, Marilyn remains connected to advance the state and is past Chair of the WVU Alumni Association Board and previously served on the College of Law visiting committee.
