POSITION SUMMARY AND OBJECTIVE

Coalfield Development is looking for an individual with strong support skills who can equip others to reach their goals and objectives through the effective use of technology resources. The individual must be able to put plans and solutions into action, to effectively support the technology needs of other team members. The Technology Coordinator will bring creative and innovative technology solutions to life across the entire organization, while ensuring stakeholders are trained and capable to unleash the power of hardware and software to maximize the value they are able to contribute to the mission of the organization. Experience managing multiple workflows simultaneously, across a variety of industries, will contribute to your ability to add the most value across all team types. 

Areas of focus will include: 

  • Hands On Training & Mentorship – our organization utilizes a myriad of hardware and software solutions. When consulted for support the Technology Coordinator will provide hands on support solutions with steady communication to ensure colleagues fully understand how to use technology tools and resources effectively. 
  • Computer Equipment – we deploy an array of technology solutions to support the work of our teams. Supporting the fulfillment of technology resources is a constant need. 
  • Process support – our work overlaps several uniquely designed teams; however, we all follow standard core processes in order to fulfill our resource needs. Supporting team members to follow processes more efficiently and effectively for procurement, purchasing, asset tracking, and analyzing viable resource solutions – are all examples of process support functions. 
  • Mission support – our mission is integrated into everything we do. Supporting the resource needs of our Crew Leaders is a top priority, so they can lead their program responsibilities more smoothly.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Training employees how to use technology hardware and software. 
  • Administrate our Microsoft 365 User Admin – add/reset/delete user accounts, groups, resources, etc. 
  • Support the creation and utilization of Microsoft SharePoint Sites. 
  • Software Admin – add/reset/delete user access accounts for a variety of software platforms – Zoom, Adobe, DocuSign, etc. 
  • Devices – quote/order/track/assign to end users – laptops, desktops, tablets, etc. 
  • Equipment – quote/order/assemble web conferencing and presentation equipment at various work sites. 
  • Coordinate with IT Support Service Vendors to act as a liaison for our employees to support providers of Computer Equipment, Voice services, Office Business machines, and cybersecurity.  
  • Technology projects – lead the execution of cabling projects, system upgrades, camera systems, printers, equipment, etc. 
  • Provide in-person hands on internal training and support to employees for ‘how we do things’ with calendars, Zoom, phone system, etc. 
  • User support – personal mobile devices being used with work apps, help set them up and troubleshoot issues with users. 
  • Lead cybersecurity measures consideration, implementation, and education.

  • Proficient with computers, mobile devices, presentation equipment/projectors, email, Microsoft Office, Google applications and standard office equipment (phone, copier/printer, scanners, etc.). 
  • Ability to teach or instruct others how to use necessary equipment and resources. 
  • Must be patient and compassionate with people and issues encountered in challenging socio-economic environments.  
  • Must understand and adopt Coalfield’s theory of change and value system. 
  • Experience with developing and monitoring budgets and financial reporting.

  • Excellent professional written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Proficient with computer technology, email hosting services, Microsoft Office 365 Full product suite, Microsoft Exchange Administration, Zoom, and standard office equipment (phone, copier/printer, scanners, etc.) 
  • Proficient with Information Technology Network administration and maintenance.

Work Location and Hours of Work

  • This position is based out of Coalfield Development’s office in Huntington, WV. 
  • Work will primarily be in the office, onsite at one of the project sites, or engaging in support efforts within our 21-county Southern West Virginia service area. 
  • Travel is required to attend meetings and to facilitate technical support and hands on training responsibilities. 
  • The normal work week is Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. However, given the nature of this role, attendance at events may require work after normal hours. 
  • In light of this, employees may request to use flextime. 

Environment Conditions, Physical Activity, Physical Demands

  • Extensive computer operation. 
  • Light lifting (up to 25 LBS with or without accommodation). 
  • Must be able to drive and work seated or standing at a desk and/or computer. 
  • Must be able to communicate with others to exchange communication. 

TRAVEL AND TRANSPORTATION REQUIREMENTS

Candidates must provide reliable transportation to their primary work location. Coalfield has a limited fleet of vehicles and frequently carpools to minimize travel burdens on employees. Travel expenses (excluding commutes) may be reimbursed per Coalfield’s policies and procedures. 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • Associates Degree or greater. 
  • 3+ years of technical support 
  • Customer Service  

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • Microsoft Exchange and/or Azure Administrator 
  • Information Technology or Information System education 
  • Leadership experience with technology training, computer science education, information technology education, etc. 
  • Education in Applied Technologies, Business Information Systems, or Information Technology.
