Are you interested in an exciting career in the construction field? We are looking for Crew Members.

This is a unique, challenging, and rewarding position for those interested in developing a career in the construction field. Crew members participate in paid on-the-job training while at the same time working towards an Associate’s Degree.

Our initiative aims to transform the lives of people in the region and those displaced by the coal mining industry. Crew members participate in a workforce development program according to our 33-6-3 model: 33 hours a week are spent doing on-the-job training on construction projects, along with participation in workshops and trainings; 6 hours a week are devoted to community college and business classes for an Associate’s Degree in Applied Sciences; and 3 hours a week are committed to personal development coaching.

Revitalize Appalachia enhances the knowledge and skills of crew members through community based construction projects. Crew members will experience various types of construction projects and are mentored by Crew Chiefs who are knowledgeable in construction management.

Crew members will actively and safely participate in the construction and/or renovation of multi-family dwellings. Projects include, but are not limited to: deconstruction, recycling, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, “green” – solar, air sealing, insulating and water collection. Crew members will actively participate in special one-time projects that will benefit the community in a charitable fashion. Crew members are responsible for the safety of themselves and others on the work site. All safety directives given by a supervisor are non-negotiable.

Revitalize Appalachia is a core capability of Coalfield Development. We are working to increase safe, decent and affordable housing throughout southern West Virginia.
