As the ReUse Corridor Manager you will assume the duty of being the primary point of contact for any/all stakeholder inquiries, collaborations, opportunities for collaboration, issues, and requests pertaining to the overarching mission to empower reuse/upcycling/recycling in central Appalachia (WV, KY, and OH), and redirecting and coordinating responses as needed. Primary activities will center around coordinating public & private materials exchange, collection, and drop-off events in the tri-state region.

Started in 2019, the ReUse Corridor is an emerging federation of organizations and other stakeholders invested in reintegrating the traditional values of resource conservation and material reuse within their business models to create jobs, strengthen economies, and build resilient communities. These organizations and individuals include material generators, collectors, and aggregators, up cyclers, makers and craftsmen, and manufacturers aligned to share resources, capture resources and transform resources. Spanning Kentucky, West Virginia, and Ohio, the corridor is an untapped material logistics system poised to connect communities generating supply of recycled feedstocks with primary processors and manufacturers with demand for electronics, cardboard, plastics, organics, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, hard-to-recycle items, construction materials, batteries, and medical equipment. Today, the ReUse Corridor is a 50+ organization that has rescued and transformed over 250,000 lbs of high-value landfill-destined materials while empowering local communities through services, workforce development, and infrastructure.

While this position works with the Director of Conservation, the ReUse Corridor Manager must also be able to work with Coalfield Development’s internal teams when needed: the Finance Team, Development Team, Programs & Sectors Team, Executive Team, and Board of Directors. Most importantly, the ReUse Corridor Manager must be the leading force for the ReUse Corridor and must be comfortable working with a myriad of different organizations and people.
