The Project Accounting Coordinator will provide complex accounting and administrative support services to assigned grants and projects.

Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
Professional and tactful interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with a variety of personalities.
Thorough understanding of grant funding policies and procedures and applicable local, state, and federal regulations (or possess ability/willingness to learn quickly).
Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
Highly proficient with accounting software and working with financial data.
Ability to be discreet and maintain confidentiality with personal information that may be needed for some grants such as employee salaries or upcoming projects.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent project management skills and ability to prioritize work and resources.
Excellent time management skills with proven ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Coalfield offices are currently located in Huntington and Charleston, WV. The chosen candidate must have reliable transportation to regularly attend work at the office and other locations, as required.
Some travel is required to meetings and to facilitate relationships with existing and potential partners.
The normal work week is Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
To support work/life balance and optimize use of office space, this role may be permitted to work from home/work remotely when properly requested and approved. On average, you will be expected to work at least three out of five work days in the office.

● Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Candidates must provide reliable transportation to their primary work location. Coalfield has a limited fleet of vehicles and frequently carpools to minimize travel burdens on employees. Travel expenses (excluding commutes) may be reimbursed per Coalfield’s policies and procedures.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required.
Three years of accounting experience required.
Experience working with nonprofit organizations, grants, and federal awards
CPA license or demonstrated progress to CPA licensure
