The Professional & Academic Development Coordinator is responsible for improving the productivity of the organization’s employees. This position assesses company-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives and identifies and arranges suitable training solutions for employees. The position advances the academic development goals of our Crew Members and Trainees. The position actively supports Crew Members and Trainees in successfully gaining employment as they transition out of Coalfield employment.

The Coordinator shall energetically engage the following tasks including, but not limited to:
Must be able to articulate Coalfield’s desired outcomes as they relate to internal training and professional growth
Must possess a working knowledge of training platforms, adult learning techniques, and training equipment
Must be able to communicate in group environments, problem solve situations as they occur, and facilitate trainings
Must be able develop training effectiveness standards, collect and analyze pre- and post training data
Must be able to navigate database system

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite or related software.
Strong presentation skills.
Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.
Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives.

Coalfield’s offices are currently located in Wayne, Morgantown, Huntington, and Charleston, WV. The chosen candidate must have reliable transportation to regularly attend work at the Huntington location and other locations, as required.
Candidates must provide reliable transportation to their primary work location. Coalfield has a limited fleet of vehicles and frequently carpools to minimize travel burdens on employees. Travel expenses (excluding commutes) may be reimbursed per Coalfield’s policies and procedures.
