POSITION SUMMARY

As a lifestyle brand offered by Coalfield Development, Mountain Mindful is seeking a Graphic Designer to support digital design services for a variety of apparel embellishment services. We offer screenprinting, direct to garment printing, and embroidery for environmentally sustainable apparel items. Our Graphic Designers create custom art and prepare it for each of these processes, using tools like Adobe Creative Suite and Pulse Embroidery software. Our Design Team also supports the design and development of new products to include in each of our product lines: Home Office Furnishings, Casual Fashion, and Self Care products.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Developing creative concepts for apparel and graphic design for online stores.
  • Preparing digital file registrations for Screenprinting of Apparel products.
  • Preparing digital file registrations for Direct to Garment printing of Apparel products.
  • Preparing digital file registrations for Embroidery of Apparel products.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment with multiple projects, locations, businesses and collaborative partners.
  • Kind and professional demeanor and attitude. Must be patient and compassionate with people and issues encountered in challenging socio-economic environments. Must understand and adopt Coalfield’s theory of change and value system.
  • A willingness to learn, an ability to problem-solve and work independently are crucial.
  • Excellent at time management, task prioritization, and organization.
  • Excellent professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with computers, email, Microsoft Office, AirTable, Google applications and standard office equipment (phone, copier/printer, scanners, etc.).
  • Preparing digital file registrations for various print processes.
     

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in the Graphic Design field is required, apparel screen printing experience preferred.
  • Extensive experience working with digital file registrations for various print processes, using Adobe Creative Software Suite.
  • Pulse Embroidery software experience is preferred.
  • Specialized training for Embroidery and Digital File transfer is available to the chosen candidate.

SUPERVISION

The Graphic Designer reports to the Chief Operating Officer but is also expected to work with minimal supervision and respond to the needs of the CEO and the Mountain Mindful Production Manager. The Graphic Designer will not supervise staff at this time.

WORK LOCATION, HOURS OF WORK, AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Coalfield’s offices are currently located in Wayne, Morgantown, Huntington, and Charleston, WV. The chosen candidate must have reliable transportation to regularly attend work at the Huntington production location and other locations, as required.

  • Extensive computer operation.
  • Light lifting (up to 25 LBS with or without accommodation).
  • Must be able to drive and work seated or standing at a desk and/or computer.
  • The normal work week is Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Coalfield allows managers and employees to negotiate a flexible work schedule. Uncompensated overtime is infrequently required when necessary to meet critical deadlines or respond to emergencies.

TRAVEL AND TRANSPORTATION REQUIREMENTS

Candidates must provide reliable transportation to their primary work location. Coalfield has a limited fleet of vehicles and frequently carpools to minimize travel burdens on employees. Travel expenses (excluding commutes) may be reimbursed per Coalfield’s policies and procedures.
