POSITION SUMMARY AND OBJECTIVE

The Director of Mountain Mindful will fulfill three main functions:

  1. Inspire a team of individuals to operate the Employment Social Enterprise as a growing lifestyle brand with a national scale market reach.
  2. Responsible for financial performance and sales goals, leading day to day operations as well as establishing longer term priorities and projects.
  3. Ensure the Employment Social Enterprise meets or exceeds strategic goals related to areas of the organization’s triple bottom line approach, which captures our commitment to People, Planet, and Profit.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Leads coordination and integration of efforts among operations, design, production, and customer service divisions to produce smoother workflow and more cost-effective business processes.

  • Maintains knowledge on emerging products and services.

  • Collaborates with senior executives to develop growth plans for the organization.

  • Forecasts, drafts, implements, and oversees the departments operating budget.

  • Drafts, implements, and executes policies and procedures to facilitate a quality customer service experience.

  • Establishes performance metrics for customer service representatives.

  • Develops and implements methods to record, assess, and analyze customer feedback.

  • Develops and implements training and quality assurance programs for new hires and experienced employees.

  • Identifies and recommends or acquires updates and expansions to technology, equipment, and policies that may improve customer service and retention.

  • Acts as a liaison between the customer service team and other teams in the organization.

  • Support Coalfield’s unique workforce training / development for individuals facing barriers to employment.

  • Provide employment supervision for multiple teams and individuals.

  • Regular review and supervision of financial management reports.

  • Communicate and collaborate with organizational senior leadership team.

  • Leading, or participating in, team and organization-wide meetings.

  • Communicating with key project and team partners.

  • Familiarity with woodworking, screen printing, embroidery, and graphic design projects.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support critical functions of the Mountain Mindful mission as an employment social enterprise with a triple bottom line approach to the business model.
  • Ability to lead, manage and influence across organizations at different levels. Be knowledgeable of and comply with all company policies and procedures, as well as legal requirements, at all times.
  • Oversee the administrative functions of timekeeping, attendance, program participation, and work scheduling.
  • Oversee enterprise processes for sales, design, marketing, sourcing, production, and distribution.
  • Maintain a supportive working environment, retaining time and space for the organization’s commitment to Personal and Professional Development.
  • Lead by example best safety practices in woodworking, light manufacturing, and logistics.

Work Location and Hours of Work

  • 1040 Vernon St., Huntington, WV 25704 is the primary production location, which is located within our West Edge Factory property.

  • Office Space is available within the production facility.

  • Some travel is required to meetings and to facilitate relationships with existing and potential partners.

  • The normal work week is Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. However, given the nature of this role – attendance at events may require work after normal hours. In light of this, Coalfield allows employees to request flextime.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • Associates Degree or greater.
  • 3+ years of experience in a position that requires high levels of interaction, facilitation, and team leadership.

  • Art or Design related work or education.

  • Woodworking, screen printing, embroidery, and graphic design experience.
