Strategic communication and public relations management. Should be able to facilitate group
discussions.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment with multiple projects,
locations, businesses, and collaborative partners.
Kind and professional demeanor and attitude. Must be patient and compassionate with people and issues encountered in challenging socio-economic environments. Must understand and adopt Coalfield’s theory of change and value system.
Effective professional verbal and written communication skills. Should be able to adapt
communication style to suit different audiences.
Attention to detail. Should be able to develop accurate written materials.
Action orientated. Should be able to follow up on feedback to ensure positive outcomes.
Proficient with computers, email, Microsoft Office, Google applications and standard office equipment (phone, copier/printer, scanners, etc.).
Marketing and/or media relations experience preferred.

Candidates must provide reliable transportation to their primary work location and other locations as required. Travel expenses (excluding commutes) may be reimbursed per Coalfield’s policies and procedures. Coalfield has a limited fleet of vehicles and frequently carpools to minimize travel burdens on employees. A valid driver’s license and annual completion of our driver’s safety course is required in order to drive a Coalfield vehicle.
Associate degree or equivalent/relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can
be used in lieu of education requirement.
Minimum three to five years of experience working in community engagement and/or public relations
Patience, creativity, flexibility, compassion, and sensitivity to diverse populations.
Professional experience working in community engagement for a community-based non-profit.
