In operation since 2015, Refresh Appalachia creates more skilled farmers through on-the-job training in sustainable, organic agricultural fields of work while also developing a more sustainable agricultural system for the region.

Supports producers through the development of a regional root hub

Refresh Appalachia is a big driver of the emerging local food market in West Virginia, providing over 10 agricultural products that organic and locally sourced by our formally unemployed trainees.

Develops local food economy that builds and retains community wealth and improves access to healthy food

Our main site is on a former strip mine in Mingo County, West Virginia.
