After a year of classes, on-the-job training and hours of hard work, 23-year-old Glen Wilson is ready to begin his career as a woodworker at Creative Kitchens in Huntington.
Wilson was one of the first 21 graduates from the Coalfield Development Corp.'s environmental remediation certificate program, honored Wednesday in a ceremony at the West Edge Factory.
Through the Coalfield Development program, also known as Reclaim Appalachia, the graduates were provided paid on-the-job training in multiple fields including construction, woodworking, real estate development, solar panel installation, hazardous waste operations and emergency response standard, asbestos abatement, lead abatement, mold remediation and meth lab clean-up.
